We have known Dan for the last 20 years as he was our point person at Hendrick. He was always so happy, friendly and treated us like family. In the pandemic there was a supply chain shortage in vans, so we ended up buying a van from another dealership 45 minutes away and they gave with the van "free" service. However the service was never as good as Hendrick, and nobody ever treated us as good as Dan did. We decided it was time to reconnect with Dan and call him and get back in the fold - my husband even had Dan's number in his phone. We had children the same age, we lived in the same area - in fact we knew his neighborhood and my husband would say "that's where Dan lives" whenever we drove by. He was surprised when Dan didn't immediately call him back about booking service, and today we called the dealership and was told he was gone. We were at first happy at the thought that he had retired - because he deserved the best, as he always gave his customers the best - but then I found this page and my heart sank. 

Sending all heartfelt condolences to the Pistillo family. Know that Dan made such a positive impact on everyone who knew him and his light will be kept in the memory of all who had great affection for him. Dan broke the mold and he will be very missed. Sending strength and peace to his family and all who held him dear. 

Always had a smile and a good word. We will see and laugh with him again one day.

I just went to get my car serviced and learned the sad news. Dan was the reason that I went to the dealership. He was so honest and helpful. He could not believe it when I told him that I just lost my husband , as Vito would always bring our car to Dan. Both being Italian and coming from the NE,  they had so much in common. Dan was so compassionate.   He always had a picture of his sister whom he had lost. He loved his sister and family very much. . I am so sorry that you are gone, Dan.  You will be missed. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏🙏

So sad to hear of Daniel passing today. Daniel was the heart and soul of the service department to so so many! He lead the service on my Toyotas for over 20 years! Always such a kind and caring soul. We would chat a bit each and every time I came for service. I will miss his smile!!

Danny's been doing my service for years now, what a wonderful man, so honest, always took good care of me, and you can't put a price on good conversation, empathy and (for lack of a better term) bedside manner. I know he was going through a few things over the past year or so, but I truly hope he rests in peace and that his family finds peace given how young he was. It's certainly odd to say this about anyone in the car maintenance industry, but I'm going to miss Daniel and not just because of his fairness and honesty when it came to my service appointments, but how he presented himself, especially so early in the morning on Saturdays. My deepest condolences to his family.

I called to make an appointment for car service and asked for Danny but was told he was no longer there.  When I went in yesterday, I was told he had passed.  A piece of my heart is broken - on my last visit to Toyota in August we talked about how we were both going through some rough times in our lives.  Over the years we had some great conversations about both growing up in NY, our kids and faith - he was much more spiritual than I, but when I left I told him that I would pray for him to my favorite,  Saint Jude - I did pray for him and will continue to do so.  I will miss his cheery face and lovely personality.
He was a descent, kind and very sweet person.

I went in today to have my car serviced and looked for Daniel and didn’t see his name at his station and asked if he was still there. He has serviced my car for the past 4 years and I was so sad to hear he was gone. I will say he was the nicest guy and he will be missed by so many. God Bless and keep you in his loving arms Daniel 🙏

Just found out today about Dan. He had given me his number years ago, as we would trade questions back and forth in our respective fields- me with some query about my cars, and him telling me about the thousandth item his wacky dog had eaten. When he didn’t respond to a text I sent last week and didn’t appear on the Toyota service schedule, I  searched his name hoping to find wherever he had went, hoping to follow him (as I had been scheduling exclusively with Dan for over 15 years). I found this page instead. I hope that Dan knew how much we all loved him and appreciated his care, and kindness. He was always there to greet me with a warm smile and a hug. He will be missed.

Danny  it doesn't seem right, with you not sitting at desk #1.  You were a great friend and advisor.  You are Greatly missed.

I just found out this week that Daniel had passed when I took my car in for service.  He was such a kind, caring, hard working, friendly and trustworthy person!  He was the only Service Advisor I wanted to make an appointment with for all of these reasons.  He loved his family and always talked about his kids.  He was truly a light in this world!  It saddens me beyond words that he is gone.  Rest in peace Daniel!

Like many others I called Toyota to get my car serviced yesterday and I only went to Dan. I was crushed to hear of his passing. He was the kindest man. He talked a lot of his son. My sincere condolences to his family.

I am sorry to learn of Daniel’s passing. He was a wonderful person, trustworthy and so considerate. We shared stories about living in the Bronx over the years.  He was my service advisor at Toyota for many years. When it came to cars, he was top notch. He was just the best ever and will be missed.

I just heard of Daniel's passing. My heart goes out to your family in this time of grieving. He was always one with a smile on his face and a kind word to be said. He will truly be missed.

My husband and I are shocked to hear about Mr. Pistillo’s passing. We have known him for more than six years and he was always happy, caring and professional. My heart is aching, I just found out about Danno’s passing yesterday. I’ve known him since his early days at the then Frank Jackson Toyota  through Harold. When Harold moved to Charlotte he told me “only go to Dan Pistillo.” He has been service advisor for over 20 years on my 2002 4Runner and eventually becoming friends. He shared is love of family, food, cars and most of all is love for Marissa and Andrew with me.  We miss you “Danno”…you are and will always be my friend.  I am praying for Marissa and Andrew and for Dan…may you rest in peace my friend.

Just learned of Dan's passing.  He took care of me at the dealership for over 17 years and was always amazing and kind. I considered him a friend and loved the times we would get to catch up about life when I brought my car in.  Prayers to his family and friends.  I will miss you, Dan!

He was so kind and helpful to everyone for so many years at Hendrick Toyota. He always gave his time explaining to us what we needed to do to keep our car safe and reliable for our family to drive. Words cannot adequately express how sad we are to hear about Dan. We just found out when I stopped by to ask him a question about my car. He exemplified "service with a smile"; and, we always knew our cars were in good hands with him. Just a kind soul; always asked about our kids, grandkids,  and the two of us.
He loved his kids unconditionally ; and we will think about him often.
He was one of the main reasons we have always had Toyotas. We have known him since he started at Sandy Springs Toyota.

Dan took care of the Petero's for over 20 years. He was so kind, generous, honest, and really seemed to care about us. When my son Seth was old enough to drive and get a car, he never thought of taking it ANYWHERE ELSE to get serviced. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. We're praying for all of you.
