Deborah “Debbie” Joan Auld, 57, of Woodstock, GA passed away peacefully on Sunday May 16th, 2021. She was in the comfort of her home surrounded by those who loved her most. Debbie fought two types of Leukemia as well as Pancreatic Cancer with incredible strength and determination motivated by her love for her family; she ultimately trusted God to carry her through and handle the rest.
Debbie was born on December 25th, 1963 in Somerset, MA. She was a northerner at heart, still cheering on her Patriots and Boston Red Sox while living in Georgia and speaking fondly of her time living in Massachusetts and spending days on the Nantucket shore. She loved hockey and enjoyed going to the games, reminding all those who attended the games with her to bundle up because “it would be cold”. She was a nurse practitioner who took joy in taking care of her patients. She received her nursing degree at a young age, and then completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in 2019 at The University of Alabama at Birmingham right after beating Leukemia for a second time!
Deb was an animal lover who would have rescued them all, given the opportunity. She had dreams of turning her beautiful farm into a large non-profit animal rescue. She ultimately wanted it to be a place where children could come with their families to learn about the different animals and how to care for them. She always welcomed anyone and everyone over to visit her farm and sweet rescue animals. Debbie also enjoyed planting and maintaining her beautiful garden at her home. She had a passion for cooking, family get-togethers, decorating her home, and the holidays (especially Christmas). She was an incredible mom to three children. She was a wonderful friend to so many.
Debbie will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Her sense of humor, courage, laughter, beautiful smile, and compassionate spirit are just some of the many attributes friends and family will remember and miss most. Debbie will also be remembered as a very exceptional person who showed love, acceptance, and kindness to everyone she encountered. Her door was always open to those who needed a place to call home.
Debbie is survived by her partner of eleven years, Lanie Holloway; her three children Meghan Rada, Jonathan Rada and Amber Auld (fiancé Andrew Riordan); her brothers Steve Buckley and Scott Ouellette; and step-mother Carol Reinker. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Ouellette and Joan Foulds, and her brother David Buckley.
A celebration of Debbie’s beautiful life will be held on Saturday June 12th, 2021 at her home. The celebration is open to anyone who would love to come by and pay their respects to Debbie and her family. Details will be included on the family’s individual social media pages.
Debbie’s family extends special thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and staff at Emory University Hospital and Wellstar Kennestone Hospital who were involved in her care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Debbie’s animal rescue as this meant so much to her. A Go Fund Me page has been set up and funds will be received directly by the family. You can find the information at https://gofund.me/18378dd5.
