Dorothy Irene Parsons

Mrs. Dorothy Irene Parsons, 86, of Woodstock, Georgia, peacefully passed away after an extended illness at Nelson’s Personal Care Home on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Born Dorothy Irene Riggins on February 18, 1926 in Bethany, Nebraska. As a young bride of Roy R .Parsons, Jr. she moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where she lived until 2008 when she moved to Woodstock, Georgia. She and her husband owned Parson’s Air and Hydraulics where she served as the bookkeeper. She was a member of Dalraida Baptist Church in Montgomery. Dorothy volunteered for Red Cross Blood Drives, she was a volunteer fire person for Holtville Fire Department and enjoyed pottery, antiquing, gardening, cake decorating and traveling. She was a woman of kindness, faith and strength. She will be missed by family, friends and the many who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Donna P. Durick of Woodstock, Son Ernest R. Parsons and former daughter-in-law Janice J. Parsons of Wetumpka, Alabama, five grandchildren, Dennis R. Durick of Woodstock, GA Dena Kay Durick of Marietta, GA, Janessa Sideris of Titus, AL, Vicki Jones of Wetumpka, AL and Gina Gapp of Prattville, AL. Six great-grandchildren, Kelsey Helen and Kerry Ann Durick of Woodstock, GA, Julie and Alex Saderis of Titus, AL, Haley Jones of Wetumpka, AL and Matthew Andress of Montgomery, AL, and her extended family at Nelson’s Personal Care Home in Alpharetta, GA. To our friends, family and caregivers, thank you for your love, support and prayers. A Celebration of Life Service is planned in Georgia and Woodstock Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to Nelson’s Personal Care Home 3615 Holbrook Campground Rd Alpharetta, GA 30004, for the care of dementia patients.
