Thank you for all of you who expressed your love in so many ways including the comments you left here. Today marks one year  of my brother Gabriel leaving this world and it is a comfort to came back and read these comments. 
1 Thes. 4: 13-18

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember that sweet little boy. Dominic forwarded this to me and I could not believe it. I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for you and the whole family. Please give my condolences to his wife and children and the whole family. I will hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.

When I met Gabriel he was newly married to Amy and they had no children yet. They were  so adorable together and had big dreams of their farm.  They fit so well together  - they really balanced each other.  Praying for his sweet family. May God's presence cover you all with peace.

So grieved to hear of the loss of Gabriel. We worshiped the Lord together with  the Place family for a time at Chalcedon Presbyterian Church. Please know we are praying and care deeply for his loved ones. Tom and Judy McIntire

It saddens me to hear of Gabriel's passing and at such a young age. Although I was a young boy the last time I saw my cousins in Troy & Gabriel, I have such fond memories of the excitement I got from my older cousins coming to visit. I looked up to you both and I remember Gabriel as always being so kind to me. 

I wanted to send love and prayers from myself, my wife (Nicole), my eldest son (Leo - 2.5 y.o.), and my youngest son (Matteo - 1 y.o.). I hope to connect with you all at some point in the future.

While I am not good at words & have only known Gabriel for 6 months as a PSI employee. My condolences are with everyone. I would like to say that he was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He was always smiling and asking how everyone was doing. My favorite memory about Grabriel was every day when leaving he would look at me and say "you know I got to grab some of these mints for the kids." I really loved that because it was one way of showing he was always thinking about his family. My continued prayers are with you, I pray the Lord comfort your grieving heart and bring you peace. 

Gabriel will be deeply missed. He was an absolute delight to know and serve alongside. I remember his servant-like spirit helping and leading with the teardown of chairs each week after church. He always exhibited a joyful spirit even in such menial tasks. What a blessing his leadership and oversight was, so dependable and always there to pitch-in, above and beyond. 

To Gabriel's family: I pray for perseverance in the days ahead, a peace and comfort that only our sovereign, good, and everlasting God can bring about. As the hymn says, "Whate'er my God ordains is right,
Though now this cup in drinking, May bitter seem to my faint heart, I take it all, unshrinking, My God is true, each morn anew, Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart, And pain and sorrow shall depart, And pain and sorrow shall depart."

I am grieving with you. Gabriel was more than a coworker or boss, but a friend. Thankful for his love for Christ and more importantly, Christ's love for him. When Gabriel couldn't attend my wedding last year, this is the note he sent. It's the last text I recieved from him and shows his character:

"Hey good afternoon Jonathan, I wanted to let you know that I probably will not make it today. But wanted you to know that I proud of you and pray for God's blessings in your life as you embark on this new chapter.  Congratulations my friend."

May Gabriel's legacy in death be as strong as that of his testimony in life. 

We are to weep with those that weep. I'm hurting because I know that you, my brothers and sisters are hurting. I am very sorry for your loss of a brother, father, and loving husband. I don't always know what to say, but I can say that I love you with the love of Christ. And most importantly, Jesus really does love you. He cares about every single thing that affects you or concerns you. My family is putting together a gift for you all that will be mailed to you.
