George was the beloved son of the late Selma (Akin) Calvert and George Breyer Calvert, Sr. He was raised in Stockton, California, attending August Elementary and completing his high school education in Stockton. He furthered his education at Ohio State University.
George served honorably in the Air Force, where he earned the Good Conduct Medal. He later pursued a career as a computer programmer.
He was married to Marlene Fern Norcross, who predeceased him in March 2020. George is survived by his sons, Breyer Calvert and Brent Calvert, and his granddaughters, Samantha Calvert, Madison Calvert, and Bailey Calvert.
In addition to his immediate family, George is survived by his nephews, David Gilleran, Patrick Gilleran, John Flaharty, and Randy Dunkle and his nieces, Margaret Murdock and Marsha Alexander; grand nephews, Adam Booth, Raymond Gilleran, Samuel Gilleran, and Lance Alexander. grand nieces, Nicole Booth, Lindsey Odinson, Megan Bodehimer, Heather Gilleran, Candice Gilleran, Gretchen Clemens, and Heidi Holub as well as numerous great-nephews and nieces.
