Harriet graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1961. She later earned her undergraduate B.S. in Psychology degree from the University of Montevallo, and her Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama.
Harriet spent the majority of her career in the treatment of juvenile patients at Alabama state mental facilities, including Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Searcy Hospital in Mobile, and Camp Partlow in Tuscaloosa.
Harriet sang and competed for several years as a member of the Azalea City Harmony chapter of Sweet Adelines International.
In addition to her parents and step-father, Bruce B. Terry, Sr., she is predeceased by her sisters, Betty Ann and Linda, and by her step-brother, Bruce B. Terry, Jr. Surviving are her brother, Michael D. Terry and sister-in-law, Dr Vita M. Terry - both of Clermont, FL, her nephew, Michael Patrick Terry (Kawika) - of Woodstock, GA, her two beloved cats, Prissy and Mittens and a host cousins in Alabama and Georgia.
A celebration of life service will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home on July 10, 2021 from 2-4pm. interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama to follow.
