

Born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa, Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, MaryAnn, his five children: Marilyn, Sandra, Barbara, Mark, and Robert; his sister Mary; and his cherished grandchildren: Jackie, Justin, Travis, Christopher, Ashley, Mitchell, Madeline, and Josh. He was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy in his later years.
Jim proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. After completing his military service, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. Committed to furthering his education, Jim went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University. His passion for learning and innovation fueled a successful 28-year career at Bell Laboratories, where he made lasting contributions to the field.
A devout member of the Roman Catholic Church for over 62 years, Jim’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was deeply committed to charitable work and service through his involvement with the Knights of Columbus, where he attained the distinguished rank of Grand Knight.
Jim will be remembered for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering faith. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched through his kindness and service.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
