John Castro Jr.

Mr. John Castro, Jr, 81, of Woodstock, GA passed away September 3, 2016. John was born on August 8, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to the late John and Jean Castro. After graduating from high school, John joined the United States Army and honorably served during the Korean War. Afterward, he served 2 years in the United States Marines. He then received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and eventually went on to earn a master’s degree from Nova University. He is retired from Diebold, an ATM and bank vault manufacturer. He loved to cook and make jams and jellies. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by many. John leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Barbara Castro, sons, John Castro, III, Michael Flannagan (Quynchi) and Richard Flannagan (Carolyn), daughter, Laura, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and siblings, James, Lynda, Deanna and Virginia. There will not be a service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in John’s memory to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
