

Jovita Sasapan, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. She was born on Saturday, August 14, 1937, to Felix and Solidad Ansay. Jovita was a proud Grandmother, known as Lola to her five grandchildren. She was known for her generosity, laughter and a beaming smile that would light up a room. Jovita loved to sew clothes for grandchildren that she would affectionately call "Jovie's Originals". Some of her favorite times was playing cards and board games with friends, and she especially enjoyed playing Gin Rummy, Rummikub, Chinese Checkers with her grandchildren. Jovita absolutely loved to dance the Cha Cha, and you would often find her cooking Filipino food for family, especially her grandchildren, with that beaming smile on her face.
In addition to her parents, Jovita is preceded in death by her three siblings, Gilda Hurst, Esther Halcon, Pacita Ansay. Jovita is lovingly survived by her husband, Ulka Sasapan; son Ibes (Bex) Sasapan and their children, Taylor, Bridget and Nate Sasapan; son, Michael (Cori) Sasapan and their children MJ and Caitlin Sasapan. She is also survived by her six sisters, Minda Bumanlag, Natividad Magoncia, Evelyn Esparcia, Charito Ansay, Celia Casino, Thelma Ansay, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Jovita will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 490 Arnold Mill Rd, Woodstock, GA 30188. A committal service will occur Monday, February 3, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Cherokee Memorial Park, 120 Memorial Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
