Katherine Kit "Kit" Rhodes Lloyd

Katherine ”Kit” Rhodes Lloyd, age 82, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on February 7, 2013 at her home after a battle with cancer. Kit was born on August 9, 1930 to Mary Louise Asbury Rhodes and Henry W. “Dub” Rhodes in Clarksville, Georgia. The youngest of three children, Kit was preceded in death by sister, Elleen Starr Schappel and brother Henry W, “Dusty” Rhodes, Jr. In 1949, she married Clabus Lloyd, Jr. in Gainesville, Georgia and during their 27 year marriage they had four children, Kathy Lloyd Rajecki, Michael Rhodes Lloyd, Laura Lloyd George and June Lloyd Swift. In 1979 she married Dr. Richard A. Elmer, with whom she enjoyed thirty-two years of marriage. She is survived by her children, 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and also, three step-children, Jane Elmer Bruce, Charles Elmer and Elaine Elmer and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Feb. 11th at 11:00am at Resurrection Anglican Church (231 Arnold Mill Road Woodstock, Georgia 30188.)In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America (www.demandcurestoday.org) or Gateway for Cancer Research, 1336 Basswood Rd.
