July 18, 1974 – February 23, 2026
Laura Erickson McClelland, age 51, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on February 23, 2026.
Born on July 18, 1974, in Texas, Laura moved to Georgia at just 18 months old and remained a proud Georgian throughout her life. She graduated from Sprayberry High School, Class of 1992, and built a life centered around love, family, laughter, and creativity.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Linn Erickson.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Cory; her beloved sons, Marc Suit and Ryan Suit; and the many family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
Above all else, Laura was an amazing and devoted mother. She cherished every moment spent with her boys, from crafting together (until it was “no longer cool,” as she would jokingly say) to family vacations at Panama City Beach, Florida. Those beach trips and simple moments at home were among her greatest joys.
Laura had a deep love for animals, whether furry or feathered. She was a proud “fur mom” to her sweet dog, Sofie, and her cockatoo, Bella. Her heart was always open to creatures great and small.
Creative and spirited, Laura loved collecting, painting, and hiding rocks for others to discover. She had a special fondness for vintage toys from the 1960s through the 1990s and found joy in treasures from the past. She enjoyed trips to Dahlonega to mine for gems and embraced every opportunity for adventure.
Laura was compassionate, caring, strong-willed, and kind-hearted. She loved a good joke and had a laugh that could light up a room. She adored Christmas, especially Hallmark Christmas movies, and never missed an episode of her favorite show, Survivor. Her taste in music ranged from Mariah Carey to Lonestar, and in the 1980s she proudly kept Aquanet hairspray in business with her signature big hairstyle. Her only “fault,” as those closest to her would lovingly say, was that she could never quite hide her facial expressions when she was annoyed.
Laura leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Forever in our hearts.
