Lawrence Mac Michael McKenna

Mr. Lawrence M. “Mac” McKenna, age 88 of Canton, GA died Saturday, October 3, 2015. He was a United States Navy Veteran served in the “Seabees” underwater demolition team. He has the distinguished honor of receiving the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and two Battle Stars. After his Military Duty he retired from the NYPD after serving as a Police Officer from 1948 until 1969. Mr. McKenna then started in the Transportation business and later owning his own company from 1977 to 2001. He became the CEO of Macs Customized Distribution Company assisted by his Daughter and Son. Mr. McKenna is preceded in death by his parents; James & Catherine McKenna and one son; Peter L. McKenna .He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; Ann McKenna; One Daughter and Son-in-Law; Kathy & Len Hileman, One Daughter-in-Law; Melissa McKenna, Two Brothers; John & Patrick McKenna , One Sister; Molly McKenna and Two Grandchildren; Chelsea and Connor McKenna. Funeral Services for Mr. McKenna will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 1:00 O’clock in the Magnolia Room with Military Honors at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time. A private interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
