Marie Elise LeCour

Liz is preceded in death by her father Edward Horrell Sr., her mother Clare Horrell, her sister Gaye Coffer, and her brothers, Michael Horrell and Edward Horrell.

She is survived by her husband, Paul LeCour Sr., her daughters, Lauren Onuschak and Frances Mann, her sons Paul LeCour Jr. (Dayna) and Joseph LeCour (Erin), her grandchildren Alexis Wood (Jackson), Madison Mann, Brandon Onuschak, Megan Mann, Austin LeCour, Maddox Mann, Logan LeCour, Blake LeCour, Dylan LeCour, and Liliana LeCour, and her great-grandchildren Ronan Mann, Kinsley Mann, and Scarlett Elise Wood. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends who were family to her.

Liz was born May 17, 1948, in Algiers, Louisiana. She graduated in 1966 from Mt. Carmel Academy and attended Kennesaw State University College of Nursing, earning her BSN in 1982. Over the years, she was involved in many local garden clubs, PTSA, Red Hat Society, DAR and the UDC; holding several offices within each organization.

Liz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. As the heart of the household, she made sure her life revolved around family. As an active member of the DAR and the UDC, she enjoyed all the events and lifelong friendships she made through the organizations. She loved to travel and loved soaking in the rich history of every place she visited.

Liz was an avid cook – and her Cajun dishes put any restaurant to shame. She was passionate about her family’s genealogy, and always kept her ancestors alive through all the stories she knew. She was a compassionate nurse who went back to school later in life (while pregnant with her fourth child). She was intelligent, passionate, kind, generous, and was always making people laugh with her humor. We will forever cherish the memories of the time that we shared together, and she will forever be missed and loved.
