Mike was funny, compassionate towards others and enjoyed the simple things in life. Throughout most of his life, Mike had an uphill battle with his health, but never seemed to let that discourage himself or others around him. He loved get togethers with family and friends and made every birthday count.
Although quiet upon first encounters, Mike was one that was passionate about life. He wasn’t afraid to be the “smartass” that he was and support you as a best friend should.
Mike was passionate about Dream Street Foundation, a non profit organization providing camping programs for children and young adults with chronic and life threatening illnesses. He was a recipient camper in his youth and after aging out of the program, would travel to California at his own personal expense, to volunteer as a counselor.
Mike also supported various events and people throughout his adulthood. He combined his love of pool and his drive to help others to orchestrate and host events to raise donations in support of others.
Mike loved all of the guys on his pool league and loved traveling to various cities to compete in tournaments. His league became extended family to him and Cue’s Billiards will forever be his home away from home.
Mike’s memory will be cherished by his father, Thomas Mark Cotter of Woodstock, Georgia; mother, Cheryl Placette and her husband, Jay, of Bismarck, Arkansas; brother, Thomas Michael Cotter and his wife, Shandra, of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Becky Ashcraft and her husband, David, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; nephews: Thomas, Brendan & Ian Cotter and Collin Ashcraft; niece, Sarah Ashcraft; and his furry friends, “Buddy” and “Sneakers.”
