Nancy was born on March 9, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia to Rev. L. Howard Gordon and Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Long Gordon. She was a lifelong resident of Marietta and a graduate of Marietta High School. Nancy attended Tift College and went on to pursue a lifelong career in the paralegal field. Regardless of where she worked over the years, she was always the one who could be counted on and anticipated any need in advance. Nancy was a fiercely dedicated and loyal hard worker.
Nancy is survived by her two beloved children, a daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Moon and her husband Alex Kong; and a son Philip “Allen” Moon, Jr. and his wife Virginia “Ginny” Moon and their three sons Graham, Hudson, and Whitt. Nancy is also survived by her two sisters Linda (Steve) Chrisman and Elizabeth “Libby” (Mike) Bryant and a brother Robert “Bobby” Gordon and four beloved nieces. Nancy is predeceased by her parents.
Nancy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her children and her cherished grandsons. She was incredibly proud of her daughter and son and their accomplishments—big and small. She was often on the sidelines at her Grandsons’ baseball games and never missed a chance to give them a little surprise gift—“just a little something from ‘Gigi’.” Nancy appreciated the smallest joys in life— she loved Christmas and giving the best gifts, her fur babies, growing a garden, and the kindness of strangers.
Nancy has been cremated and a memorial service is being planned.
Woodstock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite animal charity in Nancy’s memory. If you’d like to honor Nancy’s memory, simply be kind to everyone you meet.
