Nolan Ralph Stoner, Jr., 73, originally of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He spent the last 8 years living in Tavares, FL, where he enjoyed fishing on the Harris chain of lakes, and learning about and exploring all the outdoor adventures that central Florida provided.
Nolan attended Canton Elementary School and was a member of the class of 1969 from Cherokee High School.
He worked most of his life as a brick mason, along with his father and brothers. Once their father retired from the business, the brothers continued the tradition and maintained the sterling reputation they developed over the years. Nolan eventually retired from masonry labor and began building houses as a general contractor.
Nolan was a consummate sportsman and avid fisherman and hunter. Throughout his life, he fished in many tournament circuits, including Bassmasters, Guys and Dolls, and FLW. He recently took an interest in designing and painting his own fishing lures. Nolan was also a staunch Georgia Bulldogs fan, frequently meeting up with the Central Florida Bulldog Club on Saturdays to watch football games.
Nolan is survived by his wife, Toni; his two children, Wes Stoner and Jenna Stoner; his stepdaughter, Jennifer Moore (Jason); his siblings, Judy Howell, Jack Stoner, Perry Stoner (Jan), and Holly Stoner; 6 nieces and nephews, 3 great-nieces, and 4 great-great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nolan Ralph Stoner, Sr. (Ralph) and Martha Howard Stoner.
