She was born on Thursday, September 24, 1959, in South Boston, Virginia.
Many of you knew my mother, maybe because you spent days of our childhood running around at my house, maybe she was your hockey coach or teammate, or maybe she was your middle school teacher or colleague at Woodstock Middle School. However, you knew her, to know her was to love and be loved by her.
My mother always said, “dynamite comes in small packages,” referring to our small stature but big personalities and potential in the world (she was even shorter than me), and God if that wasn’t the truth when it came to her. My mother burned so bright in her lifetime, she was so completely full of love, so in awe of this world and the amazing people and things in it. She was crazy smart, adventurous, so very brave, and the biggest lover of animals and of the Outer Banks, NC. She loved my dad more than anything. She was an amazing mother to me and my brother and sisters, and she was my very best friend for the past 41 years. We already miss her deeply.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Jack Duff; children, Stephanie Carter, and Nicholas Carter; stepdaughter, Jessica Yu; one grandchild, Alexandra Yu; and two brothers, Andrew Parson, and Scott Parson.
We are holding a small celebration of life service at Woodstock Funeral Home on Saturday February 1st from 12pm - 2pm. We would love if you would stop by and visit with us. Thank you for all the love my family has already received, we truly appreciate it. ❤️🌻
