

Paul was born August 26, 1938 in Valparaiso, IN where he grew up. He was a 1957 graduate of Washington Township High School where he played Basketball. After graduation from high school, Paul joined the Army where he served as First Class Private for two years.
Paul took over the family farm upon returning from his service in Alaska – In 1958, he married JoAnn Weatherbee. Paul also served as a Volunteer fireman for the Washington Township fire department for many years. Many may remember Paul as the Washington Township bus driver where he drove bus for 35 years – he was our Crankshaft as no cartoonist could have captured him more accurately.
Paul also enjoyed fishing – it was in our dictionary’s definition of vacation: Summer fishing in Minnesota, Winter fishing in Florida and any nearby pool of water in between.
Paul was predeceased by his father, Edwin Lawrence; his mother, Clare Lawrence; his brothers Kenneth and Roger; his sisters, Marjorie, Fran, and JoAnn.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn, their three children, Janean Gertsmeier, Sharon Crockett and Mike Lawrence; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a sister Clarabelle and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A celebration of life will be planned in the future in Valparaiso, IN.
