

Reynold L. and Dorothea C. Gueringer. Reynold, affectionately called “Nolly”, grew up in Queens, NY. He
graduated at age 17 from Van Buren High School. After High School, he moved in with his grandmother,
Louise Morales-Gueringer, and eventually joined the Army, fighting in the Vietnam War. He married
Antonetta Prescott in October of 1968, and they raised three daughters: Monique; Michelle; and Alasia.
Reynold and Antonetta divorced in 1997, and in 1998, he married Karen Roberts. Reynold also has three
children from other relationships: Reynold L. Gueringer; Kimberly Spencer; and Lawanda Freeman.
Singing was a huge part of Rey’s life and career. He was part of the Dwight Howard Orchestras in the 70s
and 80s. for several years. He sounded very much like Johnny Mathis, and clients loved when he sang
Johnny Mathis hits-especially “A Certain Smile”.
Reynold worked in banking, which is where he met Antonetta, but retired from DHL. One of Reynold’s
passions was flying. He had his pilot’s license, and often flew as a hobby. He touched many relatives
lives’, inspiring them to also become pilots. He was a great story-teller, and absolutely adored spending
time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish Reynold’s memory are his six children, his grandchildren: Monica; Imani; Eriq; Alicia,
Shaun; Andre’; Shayne; Spenser; Allyn; Michael, Morgan; Madison; Mykayla; Milan; Kayla; Raysia; Alycia;
Sky, and Ava; Tyler; Liam; and Levi. He also has four great great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by
his parents, Reynold L. and Dorothea, his former wife, Karen, stepdaughter Tanisha, his son-in-law,
Shannon, and many other loved ones. Rey will also be missed by a host of other family members and
friends.
