Mike is a retired Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA son of Edward and Rita Walsh. As a child, he would take apart old radios and tinker with them. It led to a career as a radio engineer in the military, and as an electrical engineer in the public sector.
After retirement, Mike was a fisherman, outdoorsman, woodworker, dog lover and thrill-seeker who loved his motorcycle, ATV, and 3-wheeler. Mike was a tough guy, and a teddy bear. Mike was a constant jokester, who loved to make his family laugh and cuddle with his sweetheart, Judy. "He was one stubborn, obnoxious, opinionated, marine, and he was proud of it", said his wife Judy. "We will always miss him."
