

He was the 2nd of 10 children born to the union of Square Bynum Sr. and Bertha Mae (Williams) Bynum.
As a young boy he lived and worked on the farm alongside his parents and siblings. He attended Tuskegee Institute High School, class of 1955, where he met his sweetheart Barbara Jean Antoine. They were voted "cutest couple."
After graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and served proudly for 23 years. During his stent in the Air Force, he served as a Computer Operator in Thailand and various bases across the U.S., eventually settling in Washington DC.
He had the extreme pleasure of working in the Pentagon and the White House during the terms of Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter. Later he was employed by the U.S. Treasury where he worked as a supervisor until retirement.
Square married his high school sweetheart Barbara, and they had 4 sons, Square III, Wayne, Ronald, and Paul. Outside of work, he enjoyed working on and racing muscle cars, his favorite was the Pontiac GTO. He also enjoyed watching The Weather Channel and NASCAR. Square was a Christian and served as an usher at Springfield Baptist Church in Washington DC where he continued to attend online services after relocating to Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean (Antoine) Bynum, his sons Square Bynum Ill, Ronald Bynum, and Paul Bynum, his grandson Rodney Edwards, his siblings Willie James Bynum, Eddie Bynum, Roy Bynum, Samuel Bynum and Anna Lou Bynum.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Wayne (Kim) Bynum, his grandchildren Square Bynum IV, Tanisha Lockhart, and Darius Bynum, siblings Amy Counsel, Phillip Bynum, Albert Bynum, Lewis Bynum, and Stanley King. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Square will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
