April 5, 1944 – August 13, 2023
Thomas Ezekiel Phillip, a remarkable soul whose journey began on April 5, 1944, in Mansion Site, Saint Kitts, has peacefully embarked on his eternal voyage, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. His departure from this earthly realm on Sunday, August 13, 2023, has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.
A devoted husband, Thomas was a beacon of love and companionship for Ilva Phillip for an astounding 52 years. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment.
Thomas made his mark as a long-time resident of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. A master of his craft, he was widely recognized for his skills as a welder. Yet, his talents extended beyond his professional expertise. He was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and later, his spiritual journey led him to become a minister. His dedication to his faith was unwavering, and his commitment to his church family was truly inspiring.
A man of God, Thomas' brilliance was illuminated not only through his spiritual teachings but also in his ability to effortlessly memorize and recite any text placed before him. His fearlessness was evident in his faith and in the way he embraced life's challenges with unwavering resolve.
Thomas' magnetic personality drew people from all walks of life towards him. His charisma and genuine kindness endeared him to many, and he leaves behind a multitude of friends who were fortunate enough to have him as a part of their lives.
In 2018, after enduring the trials of two catastrophic hurricanes in rapid succession, Thomas relocated to Georgia to be closer to his beloved children. Family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his presence brought joy to every gathering.
Beyond his spiritual pursuits and devotion to family, Thomas had a love for the simple pleasures in life. Fishing was a cherished pastime, allowing him to connect with the tranquility of nature. He was an avid spectator of old Western movies, as well as baseball, tennis, and cricket, finding enjoyment in the excitement of these sports.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Ilva. His memory lives on in the hearts of his children and their spouses: Lucilla, Cheno (Raquel), Craig (Kayyon), and Shaughna Kim, along with his sister Hilaria, brother Samuel, 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, his nieces, nephews, and multitude of friends who became family.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember the lessons he imparted: to live fearlessly, love unconditionally, and find solace in embracing faith. Though he has embarked on a new journey, his legacy will forever remain indelible in our lives.
May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
Services to honor and celebrate Thomas’ life will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home (8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA) on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, with visitation at 10:00 AM and memorial service at 11:00 AM.
