William R. Fisher

Mr. William R. Fisher, 94, of Woodstock, GA passed away March 14, 2017. William was born on June 29, 1922 in Kansas City, KS to the late Omar and Mabel Fisher. He honorably served in the United States Navy during WWII. William could often be found tinkering with his beloved gadgets or reading a book. He was honest and kind hearted. He loved to spend time with his family and after a family meal would often say “The food was good, but the company was better”. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marion Fisher and son James Fisher. William is survived by his sons, William Michael Fisher (Jean), Jon Fisher, Robert Fisher (Gloria), Timothy Fisher (Anna) and Clay Fisher, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and loving companion, Violet Haas. A funeral service will be on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 12:30pm in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Woodstock Funeral Home, Woodstock, GA.
