William Starr Jr is survived by five children Tina, Wes, Jessica, Josh, and Maggie as well as eight grandchildren. Brother, Chester, and sister, Libby also survive. As an infant Gene was adopted by William Starr Sr. and Beverly Badders Starr. Gene was one of three children adopted by Bill and Beverly and lived the majority of his life in Georgia. In his early 20’s Gene gave his life to Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, doing his best to shine Christ’s light into the lives of his family and friends.
Gene’s chosen profession was that of a Hardware/Software Engineer, working overtime on countless occasions to provide for his family. In his off hours, Gene helped support his children in Swimming, Baseball, Football, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Church and Educational success. Gene was proud to be born in the United States and blessed to have been adopted by a loving family.
In his most recent years, Gene was given the blessing of meeting his biological father, brothers and sisters and many cousins to which he offered the same passion, effort, and dedication.
Through his 61 years, Gene traveled to The Virgin Islands, Mexico, Argentina, and the vast majority of the United States, Hawaii becoming his favorite place to visit.
In the last 5 years of his life, Gene can confidently say he lived his life to the fullest. Gene returned to Hawaii. Gene attended two consecutive Army/Navy Games. He also visited Annapolis on various occasions, as well as touring the Washington D.C. Bible Museum. On many occasions Gene traveled Dallas Cowboys games even on Thanksgiving Day and took the opportunity to travel and visit biological family members on five separate occasions.
Gene made every effort to live life to its fullest!
