On April 27, 2026, Bob Moore left his earthly home and earned his wings. Bob was diagnosed with cancer in 2024 and fought with courage, hope, and the same fierce determination he demonstrated throughout his life when he set his mind on something. Bob was a deeply beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to so many.
Bob was born October 27, 1954, in Erlanger, Kentucky, to Alma and Leonard Moore, and proudly referred to himself as a “good old boy from Kentucky.” Bob spent much of his childhood on his grandparent’s farm in Villa Hills, Kentucky, where he developed many of the characteristics that made him the man he was: grit, tenacity, resourcefulness, and an unmatched work ethic. There was nothing that man couldn’t do once he’d set his sights on it.
In the spring of 1976, Bob first laid eyes on the woman who would become his wife. Bob saw Debbie from across the room at a party and said it was love at first sight. They were married less than a year later on January 9, 1977, and welcomed their first son, Adam, in 1983, and their second son, Alex, in 1990. Bob affectionately referred to his wife as “his princess” and absolutely adored her. In his wallet, he carried a photo of his beautiful bride, which he proudly showed off any time he had the chance. Bob and Debbie shared 49 years of love, commitment, and countless happy memories.
Bob’s sons were the absolute pride of his life. He spent countless hours throughout their childhoods on football and baseball fields, and casting lines along the shores of rivers and lakes - their favorites of which were Kentucky Lake and Norris Lake. Even after their high school years, Bob and his boys enjoyed fishing together and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds play ball.
His rise in the car sales industry is one everyone should draw inspiration from. After Adam was born, Bob went to work as a car salesman at Joseph Chevrolet in Cincinnati, Ohio, with zero experience in sales, but with a love and extensive knowledge of cars. It quickly became clear that this was his calling. Before long, Bob and Debbie moved their family to Lewis Center, Ohio, where Bob took a new job at Tansky Sawmill Toyota, and would start his own car business, Bob Moore Motors, in the early 2000s. Bob became a well-known and respected resource in the central Ohio car dealer community and was beloved by his peers. Before his career as a car salesman, Bob lived his dream as a full-time musician for more than a decade. Bob found so much joy in music and taught himself to play the bass guitar as a teenager. Even after retiring as a musician and beginning his career as a car salesman, Bob enjoyed picking his guitar every now and then.
Some of Bob’s fondest memories were spent on the water and the golf course. Bob was an avid fisherman and was happiest on the water with his favorite people. Every summer, Bob’s family spent a week on Norris Lake in Tennessee where he went fishing every day with his sons and beloved brothers-in-law and nephews. Bob was a talented, life-long golfer, and was a member at Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club - one of his favorite places on earth, especially on a Friday night with an ice-cold Michelob Ultra in hand. He and his son Alex spent many days golfing together at Rattlesnake and some of their other favorite courses. Those memories on the water and golf course will be cherished by his family forever.
Bob is survived and will be forever loved, honored, and remembered by his wife, Debbie, his sons Adam (Emily) Moore of Loxley, Alabama, and Alex (Shelby) Moore of Galena, Ohio, his grandchildren Aubrey, Madison, and Bennett, his sister Bonnie of Villa Hills, Kentucky, siblings-in-law, Lisa (Randy) Perry, Sandra (Barry) Griefenstine, and Lori (Joe) Wilmers, and numerous cherished nephews, nieces, and friends.
Bob wants the people who love him to remember him for the man he was in good health. Remember him as someone who was always cracking jokes, always ready to lend a hand, always looking forward to seeing the people he loved. He wants you to find peace in knowing we will be together again.
Loved ones and friends may call on Saturday, May 2, from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio - 6699 N High St, Worthington, OH 43085. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and burial services for immediate family and close friends will be held at noon at Africa Cemetery in Lewis Center. In lieu of flowers, Bob’s family asks that donations be made in his honor to Ohio’s Hospice, who provided Bob and his family with invaluable care and support. https://www.ohioshospice.org/give
