Craig A Cunningham

Craig Alan Cunningham, 63, of Columbus, passed away on March 17, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1961, in Bellville Ohio, to the late Robert and Jo Anne (Oyster) Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Sue Cunningham.

Craig graduated from Miami University with a BS in Computer Science. Following college, Craig worked for 30 years in commercial IT at Grange Insurance. Following retirement, Craig worked part-time for Pattycake Bakery doing deliveries on his bicycle and enjoyed working part-time at Johnny Velo bicycles.

Throughout his retirement, Craig loved to hike and ride his bicycle. He enjoyed Jazz music, coffee shops, and visiting local record stores, and over time had a growing education/appreciation for Bonsai trees. He also had a sweet tooth as he never met a donut that he did not like. Craig had a quiet strength and gentleness that was balanced with a quick wit and sense of humor. He was a two-time cancer survivor at the early age of 40 and it taught him to appreciate and value the simple moments in life. Above all, Craig was a generous person and always thinking about others.

Craig will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Michele Lynne Cunningham; children, Erin (Vince) Elizabeth Macioce (Cunningham), Ryan Patrick Cunningham, and Michael Brendan Cunningham; and granddaughter, Emilia Joanne Macioce; and a special four-legged friend, Daisy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 11:30am until 1pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085. A Memorial Service will start at 1pm followed by an Open House until 3:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Craig’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
