Dale Sprout

Dale Sprout, 81, (Born July 2, 1944, in California) died August 9, 2025, beloved husband to Christine and great father to Tom, Ron, and Dan. Dale met Chris on February 4, 1962, they started dating in September, and the rest is history. He served as a Columbus Police Officer for 30 years. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making people laugh, tinkering with his Fords, and working behind his bar.

Dale is survived by his wife Christine (3 weeks shy of their 62nd Anniversary), his sons and daughters-in-law Tom & Anna, Ron, Dan & Angie. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cassie (Matt) Lythgoe, Teddy Sprout, Marcus (Alex) Sprout, Sydney (Lauren) Sprout, and Alexis Sprout, great-grandchildren: Jackson Lythgoe, Andrew Sprout, Emerson Fay Sprout (who he met 6 weeks ago). He is also survived by his sister Sandy (Roger) Penticoff, sister-in-law Joanne Davis, brothers-in-law Jim (Linda) Savage, and Jerry (Anna) Savage, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation for Dale will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Schoedinger Worthington. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
