

Dan is survived by his mother, Saundra Gaitten Brennan (Paul Gardina), his sister, Amy (Allen) Hofmeister, niece and nephew Jenna (Victor) Lorenz and Michael Romine. He is also survived by his brother and sister Shawn and Heather Brennan and his nephews Alex and Chase Brennan. In addition, he is survived by his uncle and aunt, Donald and Marianne Gaitten, and their children Chris (Emily) and Courtney Gaitten (Mike Donley). He will also be remembered fondly by his good friends, Brent Jones and Paul Bennett.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Michael Dattolico, his dad Patrick Brennan, and his grandparents: Donald and Joanne Gaitten and Michael and Reba Dattolico.
For most of his career, Dan worked for AEP as a meter reader. He retired from that position in 2022 to focus on his writing.
Dan had a wicked sense of humor. George Carlin and Patton Oswalt were some of his comedic heroes.
His formal education ended with high school graduation. But he was a self-taught scholar, reading and researching subjects that interested him. He read extensively, with Stephen King and Robert Parker as some of his favorite authors.
He loved music. He played guitar and bass and sang with a number of garage bands.
Dan was an animal lover, and he especially loved dogs. He supported animal rescue charities faithfully.
In his memory, in lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal charity of your choice. He contributed to the humane society and the ASPCA on a regular basis.
His funeral will be held at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, on October 17, 2024. Family and friends may gather at 10:00 AM. The service will follow at 11:00 AM.
Father Anthony Davis, assisted by Father Charlie Klinger, will officiate. Dan will be laid to rest near his dad, Patrick Brennan at Kingwood Memorial Park at a later date.
