Donald R Hollis

Don Hollis, of Delaware, passed away on November 16, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1941, in Columbus, to the late Samuel Paul and Laura Catherine (Ferguson) Hollis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Dennis Hollis, Ailleen Berdette, Judy Kay Thomas, and Holly Boerstler.

Don was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a friend to all and never knew a stranger. Don loved Lake Erie and enjoyed spending summers at Marblehead. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong devotee of Cleveland Sports teams and took great satisfaction in outliving Art Modell.

Don will be deeply missed by his wife, Theresa; son, Matt (Shannon) Hollis; daughter Elizabeth (Dominic) Bando; and grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, and Samuel Hollis, and Michael, Vincent, and Maria Bando; sisters, Sue Smith and Pam Hollis; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to The James GU Medical Oncology Clinic, Amir Mortazavi MD; and special nurses Erica, Mandy, and Ashley. We are forever grateful for the kindness, support and incredible care provided.

Visitation services will be held at Schoedinger Worthington, located at 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, on November 24, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The funeral mass will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, located at 9571 N High St, Lewis Center, OH 43035, on November 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Aviation Museum or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
