

Ed Carroll, 87, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024 with family by his bedside. He was born on April 25, 1937, in Lancaster PA, to the late Lester Carroll Sr. and Mary Ruhl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carroll; and his daughter, Courtney Kruse.
Ed grew up in Lancaster, PA and Cleveland, OH. After high school, he joined the military serving in the Air Force for four years. After his service he went to Franklin Marshall college in Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English. Ed then moved to Chicago, IL for employment as an Industrial salesman. This is also where he met his wife Betty of 52 yrs. They moved to Cleveland and then settled in Columbus when his sales region changed.
Ed enjoyed photography, puzzle books, and watching football – especially OSU games. He had a knack for telling jokes and was well liked by many.
Ed will be greatly missed by his daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Dunlap; son-in-law, Clay Kruse; grandchildren Whitney and Riley Dunlap; brother-in-law Don Kozak; and cousin, Jim Houghton.
A celebration of life for Ed will be held Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
