

Glenn Wright, 93, of Columbus, passed away on September 16, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4pm until 7pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington, OH 43085.
Glenn was born on September 5, 1932, the only child of Walter and Anna Wright (Eggerding) in Addison, Ill. He attended St. Paul Lutheran Grammar School, Oak Park High School and the University of Illinois.
Glenn graduated in early 1955 with a Management Degree and a Commission in the US Army. He was stationed in Ft. Eustis, VA and Coleman Barracks outside of Mannheim, Germany. In 1957 he joined Kaiser Aluminum, in their Corporate Headquarters as an Administrative Assistant. Over the next 37 years he rose through the Sales Force to the position of Global Marketing Manager for all Mechanical Rod Bar and Wire products.
In 1958 he married Karen Siegfried of Middletown, OH. (predeceased in 2020). Together they had 2 children, Tom Wright (Kelly) and Janice Hilsenkopf (Phil). He also had 4 grandchildren, Emily Hilsenkopf (Portland, OR), Andy Hilsenkopf (Kelsey, Portland, OR), Austin Wright (Nicole, Delaware, OH), Alexandra Meador (Will, San Jose, CA) and three great grandchildren (Charlotte, Faith and Kinsley).
Upon retirement he devoted his energy to international bicycle touring and teaching ice hockey skills (Coach Glenn) at OSU and at the various Chiller arenas in Columbus. He has been referred to as “Columbus’s Godfather of Hockey”.
