J. Dave Treasure

Dave served in the US Air Force for 12 years as an airplane mechanic and crew chief. He was a manager at Milligan’s Hardware in East Liverpool, Ohio, from 1994-2007 and later worked in the Deli department at Giant Eagle in Powell, Ohio. Dave enjoyed hiking in state parks, camping, cycling, fishing, gardening, and just spending time in nature. He also enjoyed reading, cooking, and (in his younger years) drag racing in his Camaro. Dave was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and willingness to help others, as well as his innovative and creative problem-solving skills.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Charles.

Dave is survived by his wife Kate; children Steve (Yolanda) Treasure, Amy (Terry) Treasure- Shaw, Carrie (Chris) Fish, Everette (Melissa) Altdoerffer, Rebekah (Luke) McQuade, and Cassius Altdoerffer; grandchildren James (Michelle), Tess (Aaron), Alison, Ethan, Ashley (Miguel), Baylee, Colby, Dalton, Allison, Luke, Bryn, Violette, Isabelle, and Alexander; and great- grandchildren Link, Lucas, and Naomi. He is also survived by sisters Arlene (Chuck) Townsend and Traci Nelms; sister-in-law Marlene Treasure; and a large, loving extended family. Dave will be greatly missed by devoted canine companions Syd and Nala.

Dave’s family would like to thank the 8 Silver staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital and all the consulting physicians who treated Dave for their care and kindness during his illness.

A memorial service to honor Dave will be held at 10am on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, with visitation time following until 12:30 pm.
