James "Michael" Franckhauser

James (Michael) Franckhauser, 90, of Columbus passed away on August 11, 2025. He was born on September 29, 1934, in Steubenville, to the late Joseph and Imelda (Kelly) Franckhauser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia L. Unroe, Joseph P. Franckhauser, John F. Franckhauser, and Thomas A. Franckhauser; and his first wife, Marian I. McCleary Franckhauser.

Michael worked his entire career in various roles with National Steel Corporation. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed a good game of golf. He appreciated simple pleasures, particularly those surrounding family gatherings.

Michael will be greatly missed by his wife Teresa; children, Patrick (Colette) Franckhauser, Michelle (Geoffrey) Prendergast, Trish (Doug) McClanahan, Mary (Bob) Bond, and Diane F. Cameron; grandchildren, Erin and Ryan Franckhauser, Sarah (Matthew) Kiel, Colin (Hailey) Prendergast, Kelly (Jimmy) Daniels, Kevin McClanhan, Natalie and Emily Bond, and Grant Cameron; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Kiel, Brecklyn and Oakley Daniels, Zac Staufer, Ezra Shaffer, and Beezie Staufer, nephew Frank Nunziata Sr., and his sons Frank Nunziata II and Michael Nunziata, along with their mother, Anna Nunziata.

The family is appreciative of caregivers Vicki and Nicole as well as others for their dedicated and compassionate care.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 4pm until 7pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington Funeral Home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11am, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus, OH 43235. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
