Jerry "Otis" Jenkins

Jerry “Otis” Jenkins, 83, of Azle, Texas, formerly of Columbus, passed away on July 3, 2024. He was born on July 1, 1941 to the late Forest and Mary (Fearing) Jenkins. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Jenkins.

Jerry retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company after 38 years of loading, transporting, and delivering beverages to businesses within the Columbus area. During that time, Jerry distinguished himself through his dedication, perseverance, and superior performance. He spent his free time maintaining his home and automobiles, as well as mentoring his children and grandchildren. He was fun-loving, enjoyed joking, and could always be counted on for a genuine smile and a laugh.

Jerry will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Janice D. (Shrewsberry) Jenkins; son, Eric Jenkins; daughter, Shelly (George) Edstrom; grandchildren; Cassidy Desmond, Caleb, Grace and Jonah Edstrom; great grandson, Bruin Macri; and sister, Donna Ferrell.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 North High Street. Jerry’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home the next morning at 10:30am.
