

Dr. Kevin Dickerson, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 15, 2024, in Pittsboro, NC, at age 53. Kevin was born on November 10, 1970, to Steve and Sheryl Dickerson in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Kevin continued his education after high school, earning his bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace. He then pursued a medical degree at Augusta University Medical College of Georgia, graduating in 1997. He completed his pediatric residency training at OSU Columbus Children’s Hospital in 2000. He served as a pediatrician at Riverside Pediatrics, Central Ohio Primary Care (COPC). He had just recently started a new position with JMA Pediatrics in North Carolina. With over 26 years of experience, Kevin was a pediatrician who had the respect and love of his colleagues. Kevin took pride in his profession. He was often described as a brilliant, patient, humble, and sincere physician who valued giving his patients the time they needed. One of his most rewarding experiences as a physician was volunteering in Honduras early in his medical career.
Kevin was also an avid history enthusiast, and he could often be heard quizzing his children about capitals around the world. Kevin loved to read and had a thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed relaxing with a good book; his favorite fictional author was David Baldacci. Kevin enjoyed watching soccer and college football. He also loved attending his children’s and stepchildren’s sporting events. He was well known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, often lightening the mood with a great joke. Above all, Kevin cherished the time spent with his family. Kevin had a kind heart and loved his four-legged furry friends, treasuring his nightly walks with his trusty sidekicks. Kevin’s warm smile, caring heart, and sentimental gestures will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Stephanie Dickerson; children, Bennett Dickerson and Eve Dickerson; stepchildren, Kayla Rice and Mark Rice; father Steve Dickerson, and mother Sheryl Dickerson; brother Barry Dickerson (Kim Dickerson), and ex-wife Danielle Dickerson.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington 43085. Funeral services will be at Vineyard Sawmill, 4140 Tuller Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017 on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 10am with burial to follow at Flint Cemetery, Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kevin’s name to the Richland County Dog Shelter, 810 N. Home Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
