Laura Dodds

Laura Jane (Chester) Dodds of Worthington, OH was born August 27, 1939 to Josephine Mary (Grochala) and Paul C Chester (Cseslaw Ciapinski) in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Laurel Girls School in Shaker Heights, OH in 1957. She attended Northwestern University where she met and married G Alfred Dodds, Jr.

She worked in a variety of fields, including manager of Carters Baby Clothing in Brunswick, Ohio and most recently at Concord Counseling Services in Westerville, Ohio in charge of Medical Records. Notably, she held a number of sales positions at software companies in the 1980’s, including Microsoft, selling MS-DOS. She loved to recount the time she danced with 29 year old Bill Gates on the company yacht at the annual company party!

She was a consistent supporter of numerous charities, including Culver Academies where all 3 of her children graduated and all 6 of her grandchildren have attended.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Debra, and is survived by son Al (Kendra) Dodds and daughter Darcie (Paul) Schott, as well as grandchildren she loved dearly, Sarah, William, Emily Dodds, and Josephine, Hayden, Mitchell Schott.
