Lynn Blackburn

Lynn M. Blackburn, 78, of Columbus, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on November 20, 2025. Born on May 6, 1947, to the late Donald and Audrey (Writsel) Blackburn, Lynn lived a life defined by service, devotion, and deep love for his family and community.

Lynn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1973 as a missile mechanic at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. His dedication to excellence carried into civilian life, where he retired from Delta Airlines after 34 years of loyal service. Lynn was also a founding member of Police Motorcycle Escort, contributing more than 22 years of committed involvement. His care for others extended into his work with Shaw Davis Funeral Home and, most recently, Richelle Dental Ceramics.

A man of steadfast faith, Lynn served humbly and wholeheartedly as a Deacon at Christ Church Anglican from August 2007 through June 2025. His quiet strength, compassion, and devotion touched countless lives within the church and beyond.

Lynn is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Alice, his companion and closest friend. He also leaves behind his son Thomas (Heather); daughter Tracy; brother Donald (Carolyn); sister Karen (Jerry) Guttridge; stepsons Lane (Lara) Davis and Nathan (Vanessa) Davis; grandchildren Jesse, Parker Lynn, and Lincoln Blackburn, Hannah Marshall, and Gavin and Audrey Davis; and great-grandson Colton Marshall. Each of them carries forward Lynn’s legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance from 4:00 – 7:00p.m. on Friday, November 28 at Schoedinger Worthington. A funeral service celebrating Lynn’s life will be held the following day at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Anglican. Military honors will take place on Friday prior to Lynn’s visitation for family and invited friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ Church Anglican, a community Lynn faithfully served and cherished.
