Marlene (Cook) Knecht, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Marlene was born June 28, 1932, in Centerburg, Ohio, to the late Sherman and Ilo (Robinson) Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband, Kenneth Knecht, and her brother, Raymond Cook.
She is survived by her sister, Clarice Cook; brother, James (Mary) Cook; nephews, Randal, Gregory, and Timothy Cook; great-nephew, Elliot Siqueiros Cook; and former sister-in-law, Sandra Callas. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Marlene graduated from Hartford High School, Croton, Ohio, in 1950, and attended Ohio State University. Her career was in business, and she retired from Doctors Hospital where she worked in the payroll department for many years.
Marlene was blessed with many wonderful friends. She was sweet and kind to everyone and enjoyed an active and sociable lifestyle.
Marlene loved her church and was a member for 72 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 E. North Broadway St., Columbus, OH 43214.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Marcus Atha at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington. Burial will be Thursday, June 5, at 11:00 a.m. in the Grandview Cemetery, Chillicothe, Ohio.
