Meredith Don Kinnick has passed away at the age of 94 on April 26, 2024. A resident of Worthington Ohio for 60 years, Don was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana. A farm boy at heart. He was described by his primary school teachers as one who had a predisposition to cause mischief, and thus upon his graduation from formal education, a four-year stint in the Marine Corps was probably a wise decision. Don was a drill sergeant on Paris Island. He described them as some of the best years of his life. He married his first and only love, Nancy Lou (Harrah) Kinnick in 1955 and chose Worthington as their new home in 1966. The food brokerage industry provided sustenance for their growing family, but more importantly, a great network of friends for Don. Self-taught in just about everything he did. Wood carving became a pastime and many of his pieces of folk art were featured at the Worthington Historical Museum in 2004. He and Nancy’s home was also featured in the Worthington Parade of Homes in 2001 with his hand-made furnishings shown throughout. A funny, lighthearted soul, Don’s indelible optimism was his cornerstone through life, and will certainly live on through the lives of his three children; Carrie, Eric and David, four grandchildren; Justin, Katie, Jamie and Tommy, and a great grandchild expected in July. A casual gathering for friends and family is planned at York Golf Club, 7459 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43235 on May 17th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Please join us, share a funny story about Don and enjoy his favorites, wing’s and a cold beer. He had a great life! Private family burial set for a later date in Indiana.
