Born on November 20, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, to Robert and Teresa Blackburn, Patricia was raised with strong family values and a deep sense of compassion. She attended Oakwood Schools and later made her home in Centerville, where she raised her family and became a beloved part of the community.
A loving homemaker, Patricia dedicated herself fully to her family. Her steady presence, unwavering support, and quiet strength enriched the lives of all who knew her. She was the heart of her family and a constant source of love and stability.
Patricia took great joy in supporting her children’s many sports and activities, especially their time on the Pleasant Hill Swim Team and at the Kettering YMCA. She could often be found on the pool deck, stopwatch in hand, cheering on every swimmer and diver—always the loudest supporter and the most reliable volunteer.
She is survived by her children: Lisa Ackerman Guzik, Bradley Ackerman, and Matthew Ackerman (Sarah Kowalski); her beloved grandchildren: Teresa, Mark(Ashley Clark), and Joe Guzik, and Ryan and Evan Ackerman; and her precious great-granddaughters, Gracelyn and Lilly Guzik.
Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert A. Ackerman; her beloved son, Trent Ackerman; and her three older sisters, Dottie, Barbara, and Sue.
Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered always for her kindness, dedication, and the deep love she shared with those around her.
A celebration of Patty’s life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Lisa’s home in Columbus from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembering and honoring her life.
