

Preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth (Griffiths) Greenland, parents Robert Earl Greenland and Louise Greenland, and grandson Cole Greenland. He is survived by sister Suzanne (Jim) McAdams, son Gary (Michelle) Greenland, daughters Mary Lou Wojciechowski, Tracy (Doug) Ward, Jennifer (Duane) Pritchett; grandchildren Ethan, Isaac (Julie), and Joseph Wojciechowski, Hannah and Emma Ward, Tyler (Cheyenne) Hanshaw, Caleb Greenland, Nicholas and Reed Hoppe; great grandchildren Colton and Caroline Hanshaw, Ryder Ward, Rowan Allinder, Hoku and Marlie Logan, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Born December 21, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, Phil spent most of his life in Columbus. He attended Worthington High School and joined the United States Army, where he honorably served his country. He married his beautiful wife, Ruth, in 1964, and they enjoyed 44 wonderful years together. He retired from Metal Container Corporation after 36 years of service.
As an amateur radio enthusiast, Phil enjoyed many hours interacting with friends in the community. He deeply cherished time with his children and grandchildren; simple conversations were his favorite. Known most of all for his generous spirit and servant heart, he was always willing to help in any way necessary. He will always be remembered for his kind smile, warm hugs, and infectious chuckle.
