Becca spent a large part of her childhood in Findlay, OH then went to Wittenberg University for her freshman year of college. She transferred to The Ohio State University where she graduated in 1960 with a degree in Education and became a lifelong Buckeye fan. She was married to Robert Walter Davison for ten years, with whom she had the three children mentioned above, and who preceded her in death. Later she was married to Charles Elliott Bouldin for four years.
Becca began teaching second grade at Clinton Elementary School and did that for five years. She taught kindergarten at a private church school before returning to Columbus City Schools for two years at Beatty Park. She had a small stint at Reeb Elementary and then taught for 20+ years in various grades at Medary Elementary before retiring. Becca was a teacher for 32 years and then continued to work as a substitute teacher. She last worked as a substitute teacher just weeks before her passing. She loved teaching. Becca received the Educator of the Year Award from Medary Elementary in 1988-1989, the 1989 Honoree Award for the North Area Real Estate Association Teachers (a Nation of Neighbors' Award), and in 1993 was a Jennings' Scholar. She took many courses after that at Ashland College to renew her teaching license in order to substitute teach.
Becca was a strong believer in God. She was a member of the North Columbus Friends' Meeting (Quaker Meeting) and later was a member of the Vineyard Columbus. She attended a Bible study group with the Vineyard on Wednesdays in Worthington for many years until her passing and was a member of the prayer ministry team. She was an active member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and later a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a teacher's sorority.
Becca was very active. She was a knitter. She knitted many sweaters over the years for the children of the rainforests through an organization called Knit for Kids. Becca was a Riverside Methodist Hospital volunteer piano player for a few years and played bimonthly for three years at the Sunrise (now Bridges) Nursing Home in Worthington, where her father had been a resident. She sponsored several children for years with Children, Inc. Becca was an avid reader, a writer (she wrote the bulk of this obituary), and she wrote and illustrated books for children. She loved humor and always had a funny joke or story to tell. She loved being around children. Recently she enjoyed tutoring two boys from Uzbekistan, who called her "their American grandmother."
Becca loved to play cards with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She belonged to multiple bridge groups throughout the years. She loved to travel. Her favorite trips were the ones to Egypt, Israel, Venice, China, and Central America. She took her whole family to Las Vegas in 2019 for her 80th Birthday. Becca adored her six grandchildren and wrote handwritten letters to them that included cartoon strips, stickers, book markers, and special finds she thought they would enjoy. Becca kept up with each of them individually on a regular basis, they were a tremendous source of joy to her, and she was very proud of them all.
Becca never knew a stranger and left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was a model of kindness, generosity, love, and acceptance. She will be greatly missed by all.
