

Thomas Lea Tibbals - Born August 29,1945, Died June 12, 2024. Born in Marion, Ohio, adopted by his parents Alfred Todd Tibbals and Helen Lea Tibbals. He was preceded in death by parents, his brother Terry Tibbals, sister Kay Tibbals and the love of his life Jill Tibbals.
Raised in Upper Arlington, Ohio, Tom graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1963. He then earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree in 1968 from The Ohio State University.
He is survived by his three children, Terry (Amy) Tibbals, Traci (Andrew) Endicott, and Trevor (Halli) Tibbals; ten grandchildren (Devon, Nate, Emily, Brody, Katie, Liz, Madison, Adeline, Hayden, and Asher) and his brother Todd (Andrea) Tibbals.
He worked in the family businesses for the majority of his life, starting at the Elephant Lumber Company as youngster and then working in a variety of roles for the family apartment business, Lincoln Management, which provided safe and affordable housing for Blue-collar workers and students, ultimately serving as its president until the business was sold.
He was heavily involved in and focused on the Columbus Jaycees in the 1970’s, helping with service projects, haunted houses, Rally In The Alley, Boat Regattas, etc. and helping with the elections of many local chapter and state officers. He ultimately was awarded JCI Senatorship #25240.
Tom was the center of attention everywhere he went. Always trying to make people smile, he made friends with everyone he met. He had his own tagline...instead of “have a great day” he would always say, “Have a rainbow day!”
A recovering alcoholic, Alcoholics Anonymous became the center of his world, traveling to other states and countries with his wife Jill to share their recovery stories with others. He ultimately remained sober for the rest of his life, over 40 years.
Tom had a passion for all things Ohio State, collecting and reading books, John Wayne, space exploration, auto racing, history and collecting a wide variety of sports memorabilia.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Friday, June 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
