Verda Clay

Verda Clay, age 89, passed away on July 26, 2025. She was born on May 23, 1936, in Harts, West Virginia, to the late Blaine and Sallie Dingess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; siblings, Mansfield Dingess, Jay Dingess, Madeline Dingess, Judy Mullins, and Alice Prugh; and numerous In-Laws and extended family.

Verda retired from AT&T with 34 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren, doing ceramics, Bluegrass music, and talking with friends. She also enjoyed her special friends at Salem Baptist and Jensey Baptist Churches.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Leah (Dan) Douglas and Rick (Paula) Clay; grandchildren, Richard Clay, Nicholas Clay, and Adam Clay; step-grandchildren, Jen (Mike) Barr and Brian (Ashlee) Douglass; step-greatgrandchildren, Beaumont and Addie; siblings, Louella Hope, Margaret Fickell, and Robert (Linda) Dingess; and numerous extended family and close family friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 10:30am until 12:30pm, where a funeral service will follow at 12:30pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington Funeral Home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085. Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
