Angeline, the only child of Ervin and Josephine Lincoln Spaulding, was born March 3, 1928, on her grandfather’s wheat ranch in Fruitland, WA.
At age 7, she moved to Yakima where she spent the rest of her life. She was adopted by her mother’s husband Richard O. Bohannon. She graduated from Yakima High School in 1947.
On Thanksgiving Day 1946 she met Dan Zeutenhorst on a blind date; they married on September 11, 1947. They shared a loving marriage of over 64 years, until his death in 2011. With her husband, she managed Whistlin’ Jack Lodge for two seasons in the mid-1950s. In 1956 they purchased a cherry and peach orchard on Naches Heights where they raised their four children. In addition, Angie managed the business operations of the fruit ranch.
Her life centered on family, faith and community service. She was a devoted and loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was Cub Scout den mother for her three sons who all eventually earned the rank of Eagle Scout. She was a leader for Camp Fire Girls when her daughter was a member and for several years afterward.
As a member of the Methodist Church, Angie enjoyed teaching children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and supporting church activities and committees. One year, she helped establish a community-sponsored daycare center for children of apple pickers in the Cowiche-Tieton area.
Angeline found joy in using her skills in sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting, especially in making gifts for her children and grandchildren. She disliked cooking but enjoyed baking pies and cakes and canning fruit from the orchard.
She and Dan enjoyed traveling both in the United States and abroad. Their children and grandchildren often vacationed with them, especially sharing time at the beach.
Angie loved playing pinochle with friends, cheering on the Seattle Mariners, and staying active with water exercise at the YMCA. Until her memory faded, she remained a fierce competitor in Uno, Phase 10, dominoes, and puzzles with her grandchildren and close friends. She cherished the pets in her life, both dogs and cats.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Zeutenhorst and her son Bryan Lon Zeutenhorst.
She is survived by her children Richard (Catherine La Tour), Raymond (LuAnn), and Lynn (Kelly Crook); her daughter-in-law Dianne Zeutenhorst; grandchildren Keith Zeutenhorst (Gina), Eric Zeutenhorst (Rachel), Erin Strobel (Tony), Conrad Zeutenhorst, Michael Zeutenhorst, Zach Zeutenhorst (Amy), Hannah Zeutenhorst, Holland Crook (Jeramie Miller), Gabriel Crook and Rusdan Crook; seven great-grandchildren; and ten nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Angie’s life will be held at a future date. For an online guest book, visit https://www.dignitymemorial.com/funeral-homes/washington/yakima/keith-keith-funeral-home/4207
