Bernard J. Leingang (72) of Yakima was taken unexpectedly on June 22, 2018. Bernard was born in Mandan, N.D. on September 19, 1945 to John and Gladys Leingang. As a young boy his family moved to Yakima, where he was raised and educated and met and then married his love Karen Froehlich of Yakima April 16, 1966.
Bernard attended schools in Yakima where he earned his diploma from Davis High School in 1964. After graduation Bernard worked before moving to Renton for employment with Boeing Aerospace from 1965 to 1971. After being laid off in 1971 he then moved his family to Goldendale to work at Commonwealth Aluminum plant from 1971 to 1988 it was there he started to receive certifications and achievement awards in 1986 he attended Perry Tech in Yakima where he received certifications and training. In 1988 Bernard then moved him and his wife back to Puyallup where he work for Boeing Aerospace for 1988 to retirement in 2009, while at Boeing he continued to receive Certification, achievement and awards. In 2011 Bernard and Karen then relocated back to Yakima. Thought out Bernard’s life He was an avid bowler, loved fishing and his family. Bernard’s most favorite hobby’s was his love for his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
Bernard is survived by the love of his life of 52 years Karen, son Anthony Leingang of Montana, daughter Rose Kukes son in law Allen Kukes Jr of Yakima, 3 grandsons Cody Leingang, Riley Leingang, and Bryce Kukes, 2 granddaughters Mickayla (Frank) Delarosa, and Jordan Tobiness, 4 great grandkids Conner, Jaydon, Naythin, and Brody. 5 brothers, 3 sisters, numerous niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys Leingang, Brother Dan Leingang, and Sister Shirley Froman.
There are no words to describe how much Bernie will be loved and be greatly missed. We love you.
Visitation will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home on Friday, June 29, and Monday, July 2, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2 at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with a committal service following at West Hills Memorial Park.
