Betty was born September 2, 1923, to Milo and Nina Phillips, fourth of five children, in Winchester, Idaho.
Mom and Harvey Briscoe (also known as Abe) were married November 6, 1939 in Yakima, Washington. They resided in Selah and the Yakima Valley most of their entire married lives.
Betty worked in the Selah School District food service, while her children were in school. She also worked hard her whole life raising an apple orchard and tending to the cattle on the home farm, alongside her husband and sons.
One of her passions were her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She loved to feed every one of us, no matter the time of day or night. When you came to her home, she would make sure we left with a full tummy. Having raised five sons was the real reason she lived a long and happy life. She was very proud of her family and all that they had accomplished. She loved each and every one of them dearly and unconditionally. Having lived alone for a number of years, she had a very soft heart for her fur babies. Flower gardening took second place to her fur babies.
She is survived by four sons, Harlan & wife Marilynn, Stewart & wife Linda, Morris & wife Jan, and Ronald & wife Kaye Briscoe. Betty is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey (Abe) of nearly 60 years, her oldest son Harvey and grandson Robbie as well as her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
The family of Betty would like to sincerely thank the staff and caregivers for their quality care and patience as well as their kindness extended to family, where mom had resided since January, 2015.
A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at West Hills Memorial Park.
