Billy Mark Matthews

Billy M. Matthews, 82, of Yakima Washington passed away July 22"d at Cottage in the meadow after a long battle with Alzheimers. Bill was born November 19th, 1935 to Mark and Addie (Moss) Matthews in Weir Kansas. He grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming and moved to Yakima in 1954.

Bill met and married his wife Shirley (Brown) Matthews June 3rd, 1956. They recently celebrated their 62"d wedding anniversary. They have 2 sons, Rod (Trish) and Kevin (Kristi) Matthews.

He is also survived by 8 grandchildren Jarod (Stephanie), Travis (Sarah), Alicia (Andy), Tessa (Joshua), Daylon, Lindsey, Jaci and Jordyn and also 10 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents and one brother.

Bill was a long haul truck driver for over 45 years. During his career, he traveled over a million miles and made his way through every state except Hawaii. He enjoyed playing video games with his grand kids. They all loved his famous scrambled eggs and chocolate chip pancakes. He had a great love for his dogs. His beloved dog Kipper passed away July 10th, 2018.

The family wishes to thank Cottage in the meadow and staff. His hospice caregivers, Rene, Madison, Susie, Monica and Bailey for all their loving care. We'd like to give a special thank you to Mal.

There will be a celebration of life August 4th from 1 to 4 pm. at the Matthews home.
