The second daughter to Elmer & Edna Wart, Darlene was raised and graduated from Naches. At a young age of 15 she lost her dear mom, her sister Dee stepped into that role and with that relationship it created a bond that went deep and tight into their adulthood.
Darlene met Jim Burton at a cattle bridge in East Selah and later married. In their early years of marriage they lived in Yakima then moved to Selah where they built their lives and raised two daughters.
Moms first career was at Salon Madrid as a hairdresser then moved on to the Selah School district as a cook and worked there until retirement.
Mom unfortunately was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and battled that heart wrenching disease, but through that she never stopped smiling and loving people. It may have taken her mind but it didn’t take her spirit.
She loved working in the yard, horseback riding took pride in her home. She loved her visits with family left us with great memories.
She is survived by daughters Angie, Cheryl (Bob), grandchildren Ashley, Brittani (Andres), Stephany (Andrew), Kane, Wade, Emily, Casey, Cameron, great grandchildren Kayden, Ethan, Cloe, Lane, Loudyn, Lyndee, Emersyn. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim, both parents and sister.
Service will be held Nov 1 at 11:00 Keith & Keith funeral home.
