David "Dave" Harold Marshall

David “Dave” H. Marshall, age 73 of Yakima, Wa. left us to be at peace with our Lord on 8/19/2016 in Yakima, Washington. By his side was the Love of His Life and wife of 49 years Sue, their son David and daughter Susan, his brother Ed and niece Kaity.

Dave was born on 3/13/1943 in Centralia, Wa.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents Howard and Norma “Betty” (Kittelman) Huff.

He spent his early childhood in Centralia and Tacoma until his family moved to the Tieton, Wa. in 1961. After graduating from Highland High School in 1962 he enlisted in the US Army and was a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was honorably discharged in 1965 at which time he came back to Washington and married his wife Marylin “Sue” Penalton on 7/8/1967. They spent the next 49 years together in Yakima raising their two children and creating a life full of wonderful memories. He spent many years as a car salesman working for the Dodge and Nissan car lots in Yakima. He also worked as a vacuum sales & serviceman, sold life insurance and was a Resaw operator at Can-Am in Moxee.

At age 56 he attended YVCC where he earned his Associates Degree in Business and graduated Phi-Beta Kappa. He spent his whole life devoted to his family and making them happy. He loved taking road-trips and making family memories. He enjoyed camping, fishing, picnics, the beach, amusement and waterslide parks, movies and bowling. He shared the love of Seattle Seahawks football with his Mom and passed the love of the game down to his kids and grandkids.

After retirement he would spend his days outside in the yard caring for his roses, working in his shop, spending time with his “Girls,” his 3 Golden Labs: Sheba, Angel and Ginger, and visiting with neighbors that passed by. He was a beloved husband, Daddy, Pop-Pop, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, neighbor and friend. Everyone who met Dave enjoyed his laughter and friendliness and he will be missed by many.

Dave is survived by his wife Sue; son, David (Jody) Marshall; daughter, Susan (Greg) Marshall; grandchildren: Theresa (Josh), David O., Danielle, Kasen, Hailey, Gregory, Charlie, Kaitlynn Rose and Emma Sophia; brothers: Ed, Howie, Bruce and George Huff; brothers Sam, Ken and Ron Marshall; sisters: Susi (Meredith), Gayle (Burmaster-Gamashe) and Cathy (Mayers) Huff; sisters: Shellie, Lori and Sheri Marshall; father-in-law John Penalton; 2 aunts and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers; a brother-in-law; mother-in-law; and aunts and uncles on both sides of his family. The family would like to give a special thanks to the kind hearted staff at Memorial Hospital for all of the care they gave Dave.

Viewing will be held on Thursday 9/1/16 from 4 pm - 8 pm at Keith & Keith Funeral Home in Yakima, Wa. Graveside Service will be held on Friday 9/2/16 at 1 pm at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Reception for family and friends will follow after service.
